Using ODBC IIS Logging on Server 2008 R2 for BPC 7.5 Microsoft
With the option to swap the IIS 7.5 logging from standard to ODBC no longer a GUI option the process of setting up logging to the BPCLog table has become a more involved task.
After following the standard Microsoft and SAP instructions for configuring the Custom ODBC IIS logging to a SQL destination, running the APPCMD commands to set the logging plugin, the destination table and credentials, I still found myself hitting the same error again and again… “The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application”.
After several different articles and some thought, I found that the System DSN needs to be created in the 32bit version of the Data Sources (ODBC) wizard (C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe). As we have enabled the Application Pool in IIS to ‘Enable 32bit Application’ the ODBC driver also needs to be 32bit
