This Business Unit Director role will suit:

A Business Leader who has a strong SME track record growing businesses who are sales focused Platform and Managed Services providers.

The purpose of the business is to sell Managed Cloud Services to SAP users, so you will likely have some senior sales and partner recruitment/management experience as well as strong commercial acumen.

In summary, you will need strong P&L experience, a good handle on finance, building businesses rapidly and profitably and structured reporting capability.

This Business Unit Director will be responsible for:

  • Managing and developing existing solutions, customers and prospects.
  • Extending service and solution profiles together with value propositions.
  • Creating the Business Unit Plan and managing the division to achieve the plan.
  • Participation in the overall business planning process.
  • Collaboration and internal negotiation to secure resources, manage delivery, assure quality and deliver all aspects of the Business Unit Plan.
  • Developing quality of service for the division’s services in line with the Opal Wave standards.
  • Working with, supporting, and where relevant, leading sales and marketing activities to deliver financial targets.
  • Management of service profitability to achieve Business Unit Plan targets.
  • Management and recruitment of partners including development of partnering model for resellers as well as management of SAP and other supplier partnerships as relevant to the division.

About this role:

Opal Wave is a Gold SAP VAR partner with a focus on SAP EPM & Analytics solutions, SAP HANA technologies and, increasingly, SAP Platform services including hosting and management of customer’s infrastructure.

Opal Wave is consequently becoming a Platform as a Service business.  As a result, we are looking for a highly capable individual to build and lead a new dedicated division within the organisation.

The Managed Platform Services division will be responsible for leading Opal Wave’s platform strategy, business planning, product direction and implementation as well as leading all business development activities.
