Opal Wave was founded in 2008, as the brainchild of three SAP BPC Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) specialists. Having worked for over 20 years each within the EPM domain including with best practice processes, systems and technologies, they wanted to combine their experience and expertise in order to offer clients a genuinely valuable service that provided real benefit to their business. Since then, they’ve never looked back, with Opal Wave having gone from strength to strength as more and more clients have discovered the benefits of better performance management.
Today, we are proud to work with businesses of all sizes across the globe who stay with us year after year as their trusted partner. Some of whom have been with us since the very beginning, in fact, every customer of Opal Wave in 2008 is still a customer today working with us to ensure their SAP BPC Enterprise Performance Management and infrastructure investments continue to work for their businesses. The longevity of these relationships is evidence of the value that Opal Wave delivers year after year to our customers.
This ongoing success is testament to the fact that even though we’ve grown over the years, our philosophy of putting expertise, professionalism and honesty above all else remains the same.
What also hasn’t changed is our commitment to quality that sees us recruiting only the highest skilled people. This includes some of those with the highest levels of experience in EPM including those who have previously worked with leading EPM software companies.
Our Graduate development program, now in it’s 5th year, takes some of the brightest graduates each year who we fully train to ensure they have an in-depth knowledge of their own specialist areas of work, all in the context of the overall EPM domain. Which is why, no matter who you deal with at Opal Wave, you know that you’re in safe hands.
As leaders in our field, we are proud to have more and better SAP certified consultants for SAP BPC than any other organisation in the UK, Europe or the Middle East. These sought-after individuals are of such high calibre, that they deliver training on behalf of SAP at the SAP UK training centre as well as at their European and Middle East operations. They have also been responsible for many of the largest, most complex and most successful deployments of SAP BPC globally, success that they replicate time and again with our customers.
In fact, we are so committed to the success of our customers’ projects that for every project, the most important measure and KPI is that the customer will be willing to be a reference for us after completion.
The Team
When our people go to work on your project, they always have the right knowledge and an appropriate level of technical, financial and project management experience.
Our people have a wealth of experience in performance management having previously worked at software companies such as OutlookSoft, SAP, Hyperion and Cognos (IBM). Some of them have been in the industry for over 20 years.
We only recruit highly skilled people, and, even then, we train them extensively. We make sure the people who work on your project have in-depth practical experience and an appropriate level of technical, financial and project management expertise.
There are very few SAP certified trainers for the SAP BPC Enterprise Performance Management product, SAP HANA as well as SAP SSM and we are privileged to have some of them working for us. We deliver scheduled classroom training on behalf of SAP at the SAP training centre in Bedfont Lakes (see schedule). We also deliver training on behalf of SAP in other Europe and Middle East SAP operations.

Simon Bell
Sales and Marketing Director
Simon is an expert in Enterprise Performance Management, with a specific focus on strategic alignment, planning, budgeting and forecasting. Previously Managing Director of BPM Partners Europe, Planning domain lead for Hyperion, and a Management Accountant in industry, his unrivalled knowledge and experience of performance management process and technology has seen him successfully deliver many complex performance management projects. With over 20 years’ experience, he also launched Hyperion Planning into the UK and has led countless projects deploying technologies including SAP BPC.

Ahtishaam Khan
Executive Vice President
Ahtishaam serves as the Executive Vice President at Opal Wave and is a member of Opal Wave’s Executive Board. With over 25 years of international experience in the Technology sector, Ahtishaam draws on wide-ranging technical and business expertise, to define and deliver strategic objectives. Ahtishaam is passionate about ensuring customer success through a proactive and collaborative approach. Prior to his current role, Ahtishaam served as the Chief Technology Officer at Opal Wave, where he was instrumental in the vision to execution of a number of services, including Technology Consulting, Managed Cloud Services and Enterprise Support Services. Earlier in his career, Ahtishaam held senior positions at SAP, OutlookSoft, CODA, and Kana. Ahtishaam received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Open University (UK).

Fouad is a highly experienced consultant who has delivered statutory consolidation, management reporting, planning, budgeting and forecasting, and other performance management applications over many years. He leads the Opal Wave Middle East team with a specific focus on the SAP EPM product portfolio which extends as far back as the very first implementations of Outlooksoft (SAP BPC Enterprise Performance Management software predecessor) in Europe. With successful projects delivered in the UK, Middle East, Europe and Africa, Fouad leads the most experienced specialist EPM consulting team in the region.
